Launching an authentic Arabic restaurant in China is never straightforward. Beyond crafting delicious MiddleEastern cuisine, foreign investors must navigate restaurant site selection, cateringrelated licensing, company registration, and complicated visa applications for overseas kitchen talent. Today, we walk through the inspiring growth journey of OTANTIK — from an earlystage idea to one of Guangzhou’s most celebrated Arabic dining destinations 🕌.

Reasons for Collaboration:
We first connected with the OTANTIK founding team in May 2023, introduced by one of our longterm loyal clients. The client’s core ambition was clear: open their flagship China restaurant in Guangzhou ahead of the Canton Fair 🎯. With massive waves of MiddleEastern buyers and expats flooding the city for the Canton Fair, timely opening meant grabbing precious market exposure and customer traffic.

Founding Process:
The timeline was extremely challenging. Within merely three months, our team delivered fullcycle support to turn their vision into reality. We assisted with restaurant site hunting and renovation coordination, completed registrations for multiple business entities, and steered the full application process for the mandatory food service permit.

Most critically, we handled foreigners work visa applications for roughly 10 initial foreign chefs and management staff 👨🍳. By coordinating all administrative work in parallel, OTANTIK officially opened its Guangzhou flagship location just in time for the Canton Fair peak season.

Rapid development stage:
Driven by fantastic customer feedback and booming foot traffic from fair attendees, OTANTIK earned its reputation rapidly. After tasting huge success in Guangzhou, the brand kicked off aggressive domestic and international expansion 🚀:
Buoyed by the massive success of its first Guangzhou flagship, Otantik kicked off an impressive wave of expansion. The brand wasted no time planting new roots across China: Yiwu branch opened in December 2024, then Tianhe in January 2025, Hangzhou in March 2025 and Yuexiu in July of the same year. The rapid growth continued into 2026, with new restaurant doors opening in Shanghai in March and Chaozhou in May. Renovations for the Beijing restaurant are nearing completion, it will be opening to the public soon. And the journey didn’t stop within China — Otantik extended its footprint internationally, launching a brand-new venue in Saudi and Iraq, turning a single local Arabic restaurant dream into a cross-border culinary empire.

Along every step of their expansion roadmap, our partnership never ended. To date, we have supported over 30 foreigners residence permit applications for OTANTIK’s crossborder team. Our participation covers everything from preliminary candidate screening, workqualification document sorting, to the full submission and collection of work visas for foreign chefs and managers.

Post-launch Operations and Upgrades:
We are more than a paperwork service provider. As OTANTIK scaled from a single outlet to a multicity chain, we kept supplying ongoing corporate operation suggestions, branchopening planning, compliance risk reminders and licenserenewal guidance. While the OTANTIK team focused on perfecting food quality and guest experience, we took care of complex local regulatory hurdles across different Chinese cities.

Many overseas F&B founders overlook regional policy gaps across China. Food permits, registeredaddress rules and foreignstaff visa policies vary from city to city. Without solid local support, opening timelines can get delayed, and foreign chefs may face visa setbacks.
Witnessing OTANTIK grow from zero into Guangzhou’s toptier Arabic restaurant has been incredibly rewarding 🌏. This case proves that solid local business partners can remove administrative barriers and help international F&B brands seize key business windows like the Canton Fair.
